08 Postdoctoral Position at Linkoping University, Sweden

Linkoping University, Sweden invites online Application for various Postdoctoral Position in their different Departments. We are providing a list of Postdoc positions available at Linkoping University, Sweden.

Eligible candidate may Apply as soon as possible.

(01) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoc in Computer Science WASP

The postdoctoral student will carry out research directed by  Hector Geffner,  a Guest Wallenberg Professor at LiU. The research is focused on a problem that is at the heart of the current split in AI between data-based learners and model-based reasoners: the problem of learning symbolic representations from raw perceptions. In our case, first order symbolic representations, involving  objects and relations, are to be learned from scratch for planning and generalized planning. Other dimensions of representation learning to be pursued include representation grounding, transfer, composition, and scaffolding. Hector Geffner is recipient of an Advanced ERC Grant on this topic.

Deadline of Postdoc Position: June 15, 2021.

(03) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctor in Materials Design

The project for which we are now looking for new staff concerns fundamental research within material physics, primarily theory and modelling of atomically laminated materials. We will use open data bases and high throughput simulations to explore a wide range of known and hypothetical 3D compounds, and theoretically investigate their potential for conversion into novel 2D materials. This will be achieved by construction of databases and systematic evaluation of the theoretical exfoliation potential of the 3D parent materials. The project may also involve machine learning and aspects of AI.

Deadline of Postdoc Position: May 25 2021.

(04) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctor in Materials Design

The project for which we are now looking for new staff concerns fundamental research within material physics and materials chemistry, primarily focused on investigation of novel 2D materials for energy storage and/or energy conversion.

The Materials Design group is currently active in the development of materials for supercapacitors and batteries, and also investigate novel materials for catalysis, including hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). We would now like to expand on these activities through application-inspired fundamental research: We have a strong track record in the discovery of new MXenes, and we now intend to explore MXenes as well as new 2D materials beyond MXenes for these areas of applications.

The post doc will perform materials synthesis (primarily powder-based bulk synthesis), and characterize the 3D and 2D materials with respect to structure and composition. The 2D materials will be formulated into electrodes (and devices), and will be tested for energy storage potential (supercapacitors and batteries) and energy conversion potential (catalysis, such as HER).

Deadline of Postdoc Position: 25 May 2021

(05) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoc position in Optimization for Machine Learning.

A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time. This position is established through the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program, WASP, https://wasp-sweden.org/ to contribute to the grows of the research group established by WASP and led by Associate Professor Oleg Burdakov and Assistant Professor Yurii Malitsky.

The major task for this position is fundamental research in the area of mathematical optimization theory with the aim of developing new techniques for machine learning. This includes but not limited to continuous convex/nonconvex optimization, stochastic methods, dynamical systems.

Deadline of Postdoc Position: 21 May 2021.

(06) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctor in device physics of perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) -01

A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

The candidate will focus on understanding the device physics of PeLEDs, including, but not limited to, recombination mechanisms, efficiency roll-off, and charge injection.

Semiconductors based on organometal halide perovskites have shown great success in photovoltaic applications, demonstrating high power conversion efficiency over 25%. At the same time, they also have a huge potential for the design of functional materials and devices with new properties. For example, they demonstrate strong electroluminescence and tunable emission energy, making them a promising candidate for efficient LEDs.

Deadline of Postdoc Position: 18 May 2021.
