PhD position summary/title: Doctoral student in Fluid-structure interactions producing sound in airways

We are looking for a doctoral student in turbulent flow modeling, fluid-structure interaction, and aeroacoustics. The purpose of this project is to create a model-driven method for the assessment of airway disorders and voice. Due to the multifactorial complexity of airway conditions and voice disorders, there is a limited knowledge on relevant physics associated with the relationships between the intermittent fluid flow, the upper respiratory tract, and the generated sound.

PhD  Program summary/title: Doctoral students in Robotics

Project 1: We will develop a model that initially mostly represent the geometry of the world. By incorporating prior knowledge and further observations, the model would gradually shift into containing increasingly more instances of objects, potentially with estimated object properties such as the 3D shape, material and weight.

Project 2: As robots move from controlled environments to our everyday lives, it is important that they work as intended – that they meet desired requirements whenever possible, but violate them if necessary.
