(02) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title:  This position supports extramurally funded projects that focus on early stage translational research for oncology and/or CNS diseases. The successful candidate will carry out synthetic medicinal chemistry to validate new drug targets and develop new small molecules for use as molecular probes and drug discovery leads against those targets. They will focus on the design, synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel compounds for biological testing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of current synthetic organic chemistry approaches and modern purification techniques, and be able to troubleshoot and optimize synthetic methods with limited oversight. The ability to evaluate biological data/SAR, and use this to design new compounds will be important. A successful person in this position will be able to help drive chemistry projects forward and provide input on the future direction of compound synthesis and biological testing to achieve overall project goals.
