(06) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: We are looking to develop a strong team of postdoctoral scientists to work on a project funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation within the research group of Orkun Soyer. The overall aim of the project is to understand the feedbacks between spatial organization and microbial interactions within aquatic environments. Within this broad topic, our current work focuses on a low-complexity natural microbial community that naturally forms macro-scale, dynamical structures. These biofilm-like, granular structures feature cyanobacteria and other bacteria, and can display dynamic spatial activity.

(08) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: The Department of Physics seeks to appoint a Research Fellow to work as part of a team within the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics (CFSA) to work on codes in support of the EPSRC funded High End Computing Consortium (Plasma-HEC) in Plasma Physics. Specifically the job will involve software development, maintenance and optimisation for the UK laser-plasma physics community who use the ARCHER and ARCHER2 Tier-1 computing facility. The primary code supported in this area of Plasma-HEC work is the EPOCH particle-in-cell code and so previous experience with this or similar codes is essential.

(10) Postdoctoral Position

Postdoctoral position summary/title: We are looking for a Research Fellow or Project Engineer for a predominantly laboratory-based role, which will involve the use of chemicals, handling of battery materials and solvents (including N-methyl pyrrolidone), performing diagnostics and characterisation of batteries. (Please note this advert is for the Research Fellow, if you are interested in the Project Engineer role, please apply using the relevant advert.) . Activities will be supported by access to a broad array of materials characterisation equipment: SEM, SIMS, X-Ray Tomography, XRD and other analytical techniques. A key target is growing our industry engagement with companies involved with automotive energy storage (but not exclusively so). About The University of Warwick

The University of Warwick  in post-nominal letters is a public research university on the outskirts of Coventry between the West Midlands and Warwickshire, England. It was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand higher education. Within the University, Warwick Business School was established in 1967, Warwick Law School was established in 1968, Warwick Manufacturing Group (now WMG) in 1980, and Warwick Medical School opened in 2000. Warwick incorporated Coventry College of Education in 1979 and Horticulture Research International in 2004.

Warwick is primarily based on a 290 ha (720 acres) campus on the outskirts of Coventry, with a satellite campus in Wellesbourne and a central London base at the Shard. It is organised into three faculties — Arts, Science Engineering and Medicine, and Social Sciences — within which there are 32 departments. As of 2019, Warwick has around 26,531 full-time students and 2,492 academic and research staff. It had a consolidated income of £688.6 million in 2017/18, of which £126.5 million was from research grants and contracts. Warwick Arts Centre, a multi-venue arts complex in the university’s main campus, is the largest venue of its kind in the UK outside London.{
