Postdoctoral position summary/title: The Kleiner Lab at NC State University is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scholar to develop and apply cutting-edge LC-MS/MS based methods for the analyses of small peptides in plants that mediate interactions with root-associated microbes. The postdoc will lead the development and optimization of methods to identify and quantify small signaling peptides in different plant tissues using high-resolution LC-MS/MS approaches. The postdoc will then use these approaches to analyze the role of small peptide signaling in different plant genotypes and in response to association with variable root-associated microbiomes. The focus plants of this project will be Lotus japonicus and wheat. The postdoc will be part of the InRoot project of the Collaborative Crop Resilience Program (https://ccrp.vcl.ncsu.edu/) a large international collaboration to research how plant-associated microbes affect plants and can be used in the future to increase resilience of crops.
